Same wonderful engineering and craftsmanship along with the beautiful New Zealand timber . .   Quote from Spinning wheel information site" Pipy was one of several types of wheel made in Auckland by Philip Poore (Pipy Craft Ltd) from 1962.  It was designed for double drive but can be adapted for brake tension or even bobbin lead. The bobbins have a metal shaft, and the spindle runs in metal bearings. A hook flips over to secure the orifice. A cord is used instead of the usual rigid footman. "Queen Victoria had a spinning wheel with a cord footman" says Mr Poore, "which is all that is needed for a downward foot movement and is very light."   comes with TWO bobbins each holding approx 6oz of spun wool.   SMALL WHEEL Packs into a small space and has been desined to be easily handled in a vehicle, whilst  still  being a first class spinning wheel. I dont charge for my time packing or packing materials.   The flyer wheel and bearings are of a modern non oiling type, but a little light oil helps. All other moving parts require occasional oiling. Bobbins run more silently with a little grease.   The flyer is of laminated wood for strength Tension Control -  The double drive band is one band that goes around the wheel twice. Pulley has three speeds to choose from The wheel is counter balanced so that it stops ready to turn in the correct clockwise spinning direction.
