THESE SHIVA SIGNATURE OIL'S ARE FROM 1970 & 1973 35 Years Old YES THEY ARE STILL GOOD Still Soft In The Tubes. ~I Can't Help But Brag On These Paints~ I Have Painted Over 30 Paintings With These Paints Since 1996 And Have Recently Started Another. I don't know exactly when or why the Artist paints industry changed their paint or formula Maybe it was to stay in business so they could compete, Who really knows why. I know there seems to be a difference between these formulated paints and todays formula. I do know some time in the late 70's or early 80's something changed. I don't know what. Maybe It's All In My Head, But I Don't think So. You Old School Painter's Know What I'm Talking About. I'm sure you have been looking for that paint that had that certain feel. You New Generation Painter's that have only been painting for the past 20 years may never had the opportunity to use the older paint's So you really wouldn't Understand or know the Difference if you ever painted with these you would feel the difference. So Please don't feel insulted.   I have only been painting for less then 20 years Unlike Most I Started With These Paints And Didn't Know The Difference,  Til I Painted With A Lot Of Different Brands . THEN I FOUND OUT REAL QUICK But They Never Counted On Someone like Me Still Having Some Of The Older Oils To Compare Them To. The paints I purchased that came close to this quality I paid $30.00 and over for a 1.1/4 oz tube I squeezed it All Out on the pallet thinking there should have been some hidden GOLD in it for that Price But just my luck there wasn't. I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS THE BEST YOU CAN GET. I'm Saying What Is Out There To Compare It To? How Much Are You Going To End Up Paying For It? Will The Formula Compare To 35 years ago. I don't Have The Answers, This Is Just My Opinion I'm sure if you know the difference then you understand. Do You Realize This Oil Paint Is 35 Years Old And Still Good And Still Looks New Well It Is New, It's Not Used It's 1970 through 1973 New. These Tubes Are The Tin Type Maybe That Is Why They Have Stood The Test Of Time. Store Your Plastic Tubes For 35 Years And See If They Are Not Hard As A Rock, Providing The Tubes Don't Rott First. I understand some companies still use Tin type Tubes This paint even pre dates the bar code. There is no bar codes on the tubes.
