There are instructions for the tatting basics.  The snowflakes range in size from 1 1/4 inches to 4 3/4 inches across.  There are 3-D patterns also.  The patterns also range from simple one row snowflakes to complicated 3 - D creations.  A little something for the beginner and the experience tatter. TATTED SNOWFLAKES - BUY IT NOW Metal Tatting Shuttle Susan Bates Made in Mexico This is my favor tatting shuttle to use. The bobbin is removable, making it easier to add more thread. The only problem I have is the thread getting wrapped around the bobbin and getting dirty.  When I was browsing the Dove County pages, she suggested using a plastic sewing machine bobbin.  I haven't tried that yet.
